Our names are DJ Blaha and Gary Gabel and that we are Managers of the latest Restaurant Opens for Yard House. While we have quite a long title, it also perfectly explains what we should do.
We both started our careers with Yard House as hourly Staff, enjoyed whatever we did and eventually begun to work on the road as Travel Trainers to spread the teachings of Yard House. Throughout the years, Yard House has provided us the ability to develop and grow. While we went through several other positions before we landed here (DJ became Assistant General Manager of Las Vegas Town Square and Gary, Beverage Supervisor), our true passion came calling again each time a spot opened inside the training world, titled Manager of the latest Restaurant Opens.
Just what exactly do we do? We travel round the country assisting our Operation teams in opening new restaurants, from planning deliveries to executing training with sometimes as much as 200 new team members. During an open, our new team members learn our culture, standards and extensive menu in a classroom setting, assisted by their managers and traveling trainers. Traveling Trainers muanml incredibly talented individuals who exemplify whatever we do as a company and we have witnessed many of them flourish personally and professionally in each open, to management positions and beyond like ourselves.
We take pride in being an integral part of growing our brand. This may not be just work, but a passion for us. We have now been fortunate enough to have combined took part in yard house opening hours through the years. Having the capacity to see a small group of people turn into a team and ultimately a household, is quite a rewarding experience. We look ahead to evolving this process and opening many, much more new restaurants for Yard House!
